Metal band All Else Fails will be playing to Grand Forks tonight. The band comes from St. Albert, near Edmonton, and has a style that isn’t held back by the borders of just one genre.

For the past three years Les Folles Jambettes, in partnership with Spencer Hill Orchard and Gallery, has brought in talented musical acts from around B.C. and Alberta to their popular Starlight Saloon.

The Kettle River Summer Festival will feature ukulele lessons from local music teacher Joan Thompson.

Join the Hip Sisters Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. in Gyro Park in Grand Forks and Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. at Deadwood Junction in Greenwood for a free dance workshop, dance demo and fire-spinning demo.

Company Jump, a musical tribute showcasing the 1940’s swing-music styles of the Andrews sisters (Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy, Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree, etc.), is delighted to be back in the area.

Gallery 2 in Grand Forks will be showcasing a unique collection of Japanese Canadian photography.

Many of my friends and family are known for their talents in a particular craft.

An idea took shape in January 2010 when a group of local artisans got together over coffee and talked about workshops and festivals they had attended over the years.
